Rebun Large-flowered Cypripedium Growing Cluster

Rebun Large-flowered Cypripedium is a member of the orchid family known as the “Queen of the Orchids”. The flower is designated as a Natural Monument of Hokkaido, Rebun Island is the only place in Japan where they are known to grow, attracting large numbers of tourists travel from all over the country. The path through the Rebun Large-flowered Cypripedium Growing Cluster was created to enable visitors to see the flowers up close and opens for one month around mid-May to coincide with their blooming season. Two paths are available, a hill route and a boardwalk route.
