Kutsugata Misaki Park

This location is popular due to the view it offers of both Mount Rishiri and Rebun Island. Depending on the season, coastal plants such as Kamchatka lilies, Amur daylilies, woolly geraniums and beach roses can be seen flowering in the grounds. There is also a monument to Otowa Shigure, a renowned lyricist from Rishiri Island. Cape Kutsugata is known locally as “Cape Donto” in reference to the lyrics of one of Shigure’s works, Defune no Minato (Sea Port Boatman's Song). A campsite and a small visitor center can also be found near the park.
